The vision for this project was to incorporate more light and flow into the existing home and construct a wing for extended family stays. This renovation extension embodied the home’s inviting feel and interior design.

We started by altering the existing dwelling to open it up and let more light in whilst improving the flow between the living, dining and pool area. Working with local architect John R Webb, we removed internal walls and increased openings. The new architecturally designed door units now open into the impeccable garden integrating the indoor and outdoor living spaces. Structurally the original dwelling is double brick, requiring our renovation expertise to incorporate the alterations seamlessly as though it had always been that way.

A home this inviting was calling out for a statement entrance. We altered the existing and incorporated the kingpost portico entrance that has been sympathetically tied back into the existing structure.

We completed the internal renovation of the house before the extension to ensure the client had a strong feel for the interior design and vision of the house. The extension continued the interior design and homeliness into a self-contained wing for visiting family and friends.

Our favourite architectural detail of the new wing was the exposed timber trusses to tie in old with new for a harmonious feel. The sandstone capping detail perfectly continues the exterior architecture of the home.

The completed project showcases what can be achieved with a high-end home renovation. Architecturally designed alterations to existing interiors can transform the feel of a home. Combined with the seamless integration of new spaces, this project captures what it means when say, a renovator’s delight.
